RUDRAKSHAS WEARING TIPS

An energised Rudraksha acts on four levels simultaneously.

Spiritual: Deepens meditation, accelerates mantra practice, and creates a protective aura around the wearer.
Mental: Reduces anxiety, improves focus, and promotes emotional stability – validated by the bead’s natural Electromagnetic properties.
Physical: Traditional ayurvedic texts cite benefits including regulated blood pressure, improved circulation, and Relief from stress related ailments.
Intended Goal: The intended and focused goal is achieved by wearing the Rudraksha or mix of Rudrakshas.

Which Rudraksha to wear?

Try a single Rudraksha based on your Moon Sign first to see how it feels. Wear the Rudraksha for a few weeks (3-4 weeks) and notice if you feel calmer or more focussed.

If not achieved the intended purpose, combine another Mukhi to achieve the goal.

The single Rudraksha or small combination is used for focussed intention.

How to wear?

Set your intention or the purpose for which you are wearing the Rudraksha. After chanting Om Namah Shivaya: 108 times, and the Beej Mantra 12 times, hold the Rudraksha over your heart and mentally state your intention to the Rudraksha and then wear it. It is advisable to pray your Kula Dhaivam/Dharma Dhaivam (hereditary God), Ishta Dhaivam (favourite God) while before wearing the Rudraksha for the first time.

Wear directly against your skin in the early morning after bathing. String the bead on an undyed cotton, silk thread or silver, gold or copper wire.

You should wear the Rudraksha daily to maintain consistent contact with your skin, which helps lower blood pressure, soothe nerves and stabilize your potential energy.

You can wear it as a Pendant in existing chain or as a Mala in a Red thread or as a bracelet.

The Rudraksha Mala/Thread should hang to your chest level – never below the navel, to activate the heart chakra. If it is bracelet, wear it on the right wrist for men and the left wrist for women.

Always handle the Rudraksha with clean hands and chant Om Namah Shivaya: when placing it or removing it. Once removed keep it in the Pooja room or a clean and neat place.

Rudraksha Mala – 108 Rudrakshas or 54 Rudrakshas

While Nepali Rudrakshas are prized for individual power pendants, Indonesian 5 Mukhi Rudrakshas are almost exclusively used for full 108 or 54 bead Malas due to their optimal physical characteristics like small and smooth size (5mm to 10mm in diameter). This makes the mala compact, lightweight and comfortable to wear around the neck or hold during mantra chanting. Indonesian Rudrakshas are highly affordable and maintain a uniformly safe, calming energetic frequency.

The full Mala of 108+1 Rudrakshas are generally used for meditation, chanting mantras like Om Namah Shivaya: and deepening inner calm and spiritual growth. Benefits: less stress, better meditation, stronger connection to the divine. It can also be worn every day.

The full Mala of 54+1 Rudrakshas are used as an active daily wear for spiritual balance and strong spiritual energy. Benefits: calm your mind, boost your focus, shield you from negativity.

A long 108 bead mala can feel heavy if you are always on the go. So recommended is a 54 beads mala.

Generally, 5 Mukhi Rudrakshas are used for Rudraksha Malas. The one bead (108+1 or 54+1) is your goal bead for focussed intention.

When to remove the Rudraksha or Mala?

You can remove the Rudraksha before taking a shower to avoid the Rudraksha brittle and prone to cracking because of the chemicals contained in the soap/shampoo.

When any birth or death occurs, remove and wear after all rituals are over.

Take off the Rudraksha when attending funeral or cremation or when engaging in intimate activities or hospital visits or in dirty places.

Though traditions suggest wearing the Rudraksha 24/7, removing at night can help give the Rudraksha and thread a rest.

Some practices recommend that women remove the Rudraksha during their monthly periods, but women can safely wear it at all times including during menstruation. However, it is up to the mind of the wearer to wear it or remove it during this period.

Although non-vegetarian food and alcohol are permitted, it is better to remove the Rudraksha and keep it in the pocket and wear it after a few hours.

Who all can wear the Rudraksha?

According to authentic Vedic scripts and spiritual guides, anyone can wear a Rudraksha regardless of age, gender, caste, religion or nationality.

Maintenance of Rudrakshas

Every 6 months wash it with pure warm water and dry it with a soft cotton cloth or tissue. Then gently massage the Rudraksha with sesame/coconut oil to maintain their natural conductivity and prevent them from drying out or cracking.

Go to a temple, preferably Shiva temple, and keep the Rudraksha with the God for getting more energy and then wear it by chanting Om Namah Shivaya: Offer a small pooja or abhisheka to the God.

Never share your Rudraksha with anyone else as it absorbs your unique personal energy.
